Description:
Vasculitis is an inflammation of the blood vessels. It happens when the body's immune system attacks the blood vessel by mistake, and the autoantibodies include c-ANCA and p-ANCA. Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) targeting proteinase 3 (PR3), c-ANCA is a sensitive and specific marker for WG and monitor disease activity. Anti-MPO antibodies are mainly associated with p-ANCA-positive vasculitis. Anti-GBM IgG is diagnosed with normal kidney function despite severe alveolar hemorrhage.
